Another Part of My Story

This is Chapter 3!!!

Chapter 3: Me+School= Big Problems
I rubbed my eyes, muttered to myself, and sprinted to the schoolyard. Millions of kids were sitting at the fountains and benches. I could see that most of them were studying arithmetic books. Suddenly, a shrill bell sounded and the students went pouring into the Middle School. Lincoln Middle School, to be exact. I slipped into the crowd and made my way through the mass of yelling people.
As soon as I got inside the warm haven, I pulled my schedule  out of my navy blue Jansport backpack. Lets see, I said to myself. First up...... Mr. Smith with History. I groaned. History was the most boring out of all the subjects. I looked around the halls for room 222.
The ceiling reached 4 stories high! There were at least 5 chandeliers in every hallway, with fake lightbulb candles. Everywhere I looked were doors. Literally everywhere! Hmm......... I thought. Room 678?!?!?! Where is my classroom!?!?!?!?!
"Hey!" somebody said behind me. I whirled around to see a girl, about 13, with long blonde hair set in a ponytail. "Um," I stammered. "H-hi." Now you can see why I don't have very many friends. "Do you need help?" she asked. I swallowed the pit in my throat and said yes. "Whose class do you have?" she asked. "Mr. Smith, room 222." my voice finally came back.
"I have him, too!" she smiled. "I'll lead you to him!" She started walking, and so did I. We found the classroom and went through the door. There were tables of two people and she went ahead and sat right down next to a Chinese girl with dark black hair and jet-blue eyes. I rolled my eyes and sat at an empty desk.
As soon as a did, the door swung open and an older man came bursting in. He had wrinkles all over his tan face and him mouth was set in a grim line. "I hope none of you are late again today!" he grunted in a deep voice. We all nodded. "Good then," he said. "I'd like to introduce you to a young lady named Emma Rodriguez! Will you please come up Emma?"
I blushed, then walked up to the front of the room. One kid even threw a spitball at me! I glared at him angrily. This was already bad enough! "Please sit down!" Mr. Smith told me after what seemed like an hour. "Ok now!" he said. "Everybody turn to page-" he was cut off by someone running through our door. It was a girl with lengthy dark brown hair that were pulled into two braids. She ran to the desk I was sitting at and sat down. I could hear her panting right next to my ear.
"Stephanie!" Mr. Smith shouted at her. "You're late again!!!!!!!!!"
"Look," the girl said. "I'm sorry! PLEASE don't give me detention again! My mom would kill me!!! Look, I even have a note!!!!!" She pulled something out of her backpack and handed it to the teacher. Mr. Smith looked it over. He wore a puzzled expression. "Get Tabitha's lunch money to make up for mine....." he started to read. "WRONG ONE!" Stephanie grabbed the paper out of his hands. "Here!" she gave him an ivory-colored piece of stationary and sat down with a smug grin.
Mr. Smith nodded and read the note. He suddenly turned pale and gave it back to her. "Certainly." he said solemnly. "No more detention." The buzz of talking spread across the room. Stephanie is a genius! How did she do that?!?!?! As soon as Mr. Smith started to  drone on about the Revolutionary War, I leaned over and whispered to Stephanie "I'm new here. My name is Emma. How did you get you mom to sign that?" "Come to my house after school and I'll show you!" she whispered back. She handed me a slip of paper folded in half. "Call me!" she whispered again.
I opened the paper and saw the digits: 486-8268. I put the paper in my pocket and smiled. This might be a pretty good school year! Little did I know, Stephanie was leading me to utter chaos!

Chapter 2: My New Life

OK, I have to admit that our new house was pretty big. My room was at least 2 times as big as the average person my age's room. It had blue, brown, and black walls, and a shiny wooden fan attached to the ceiling. When we got to our new home, it was Thursday. At 3:00 in the morning! When I got the chance to sleep in my queen-sized bed, I couldn't sleep anyway. Because in about 4 hours, I was going to a new school.
At 7:00, which is when I woke up, my alarm didn't go off! I was so mad, a threw my clothes on, slipped into my shoes, pulled on my jacket, grabbed my backpack, ate a piece of toast, and ran out the door in, like, 10 seconds! I was so quick, I didn't even get to say goodbye to my family. Oh well.
On the way to school, I prayed that I would make a friend. Or friends. I didn't want to be the only one without a buddy. The outsider. The outcast. Trust me, I've been that person before. It didn't turn out very well.
I ran alongside the woods by the school. It wasn't very far between the school and my house. I was, for once, glad for that. Maybe I'd find someone to walk with me! But now, I'd have to focus on getting to school as fast as I could.
Suddenly, a hand with sickly brown fur and 6 inch long claws came out a tree right in front of me. I screamed and started to faint. I came back into focus when frostbite-cold water came shooting into my eyes. I shot my hands out in front of me to stop the flow. As soon as the water stopped, I blinked rapidly and looked for my enemy.
There were two boys with water guns dashing towards the school, looking to see if I had spotted them. Well I did all right! A went chasing after them, then came to an abrupt stop when I remembered the clawed hand, more like paw. I turned around to see the thing had slunk back into the woods.

Short Mini-Part of My Story

This is my story so far. I hope you like it! I still need a title for it, though, but you probably need to read more to know what it's about.

Chapter One: Washington Blues

I knew I was stuck with moving, but I wasn't going to make it easy for myself. Once my parents told me I was going to have to leave Idaho to move to Washington, I locked myself in my room and cried for 30 minutes. I didn't agree with leaving my best friend or all that I had here in Idaho for a whole new life. "It's your father's job," my mom tried to reassure me. "It got him transferred." Like that was going to help me!
I rose my head from my pillow. I knew I had to go today. I had no choice. But, our new neighbors DID have a kid my age. Maybe this wasn't going to be so bad after all. I wiped my eyes with my handkerchief and stood up straight. I quickly applied some lipstick and pulled on my wool jacket. I inhaled deeply and left my room, silently unlocking the door as I went.
The smell of omelets, hash browns, and eggs wafted in the air. I sat down on a stool in the kitchen and helped myself to the delicacy. As I ate, my 9 year-old brother entered the room. "What are you doing???" he demanded loudly. "Those are my eggs!" I groaned and tried to explain that his food was on the OTHER side of the island.
He smiled and rubbed his hands together greedily. Then, he sat down and shoveled his hash browns down. I rolled my eyes and slid a piece of bacon into my mouth. Suddenly, something made me gag. It was a worm, trying to slide it's way down my throat. I spit the food out all over the table. "MAX, YOU LITTLE...." I screeched. "YOU PUT A WORM ON MY BACON!" While I was chocking the bacon up, I could see his smug little grin of his.
That creep, I thought. How could he? Soon later, my dad came running into the kitchen with a bat in his hands. Max screamed and jumped under the table. I giggled, but tried to stifle it when I saw my dad's evil stare. "He put a worm on my bacon!" I said, trying to sound calm.
"Is that true?" my dad questioned Max sternly. Max poked his head up from underneath the island and nodded. My dad sighed and set the bat down. Then, he grabbed my brother's ear and dragged him out of the kitchen. "OW OW OW OW OW!!!!!!!!" I heard him scream from all the way down the hall. I cleared my plate, pulled my gloves on, and stepped outside.  I could see my breath in the cool September air. I shoved my hands into my jean pockets and walked down by our moving truck.
"You ready?" my dad asked. He had came out soon after I did. I nodded and we piled into the truck. My dad put the keys in the slot and turned them. The low rumble of the engine soothed me a bit. Then, Max came running out of the house with his Red Socks sweatshirt. He jumped in the car and my dad pushed the gas pedal. We were rolling to Washington!

This Is Another Short Story

Going Under
By: Jessie
Tofaute

I hold my breath and close my eyes as I slip under the water. I open my eyes and instant blues, greens, reds, yellows, oranges. All sorts of colors explode into sight. Sun light spills through the stain glass water. Bubbles float up and break the surface. I watch as a beautiful turquoise fish flutters by. This under water world had its downs.
I saw a shark! And it was hurdling toward me! My lungs were also screaming for oxygen. I finally reached the surface and gulped all the air I could take in. I couldn’t relax yet, I still had an angry, hungry, mutant like shark chasing me. I grabbed the side of the boat and pulled my self over. I lay down on the hard, wet floor and gasped for air but, smiled because I know I will be telling this story for years to come.
